ESKOM implemented rolling blackouts across the country yesterday. On its Twitter account it said it would remove 1 000 megawatts from the grid due to a shortage of capacity. “The system is extremely constrained,” Eskom said earlier. One of the units at the utility’s Koeberg nuclear plant, north of Cape Town, would be shut down from yesterday for scheduled refuelling, inspection and maintenance, and would probably return to operation at the end of May, Eskom said. – Bloomberg
