Johannesburg - Cosatu led a march across the city on Wednesday to hand deliver memoranda to organizations ranging from communications parastatal Telkom, to the Gauteng provincial government.

This as the country’s largest federation prepares for Friday’s ANC national general council (NGC)

The NGC is the governing-party’s most important conference in-between its national conferences, the next of which is in two year’s time.

Cosatu was prominently joined by the SACP.

The federation’s members are fighting for affordable reliable public transport and a removal of the retrenchments which currently beset the country, whose economic growth is sluggish.

The march was scheduled to begin at 9am but only began around 10am due to the apparent disorganization of the province’s structures and problems apparently arising from City of Joburg municipal concerns around police presence.

The march has not ended yet.
