Johannesburg - South African finance minister Pravin Gordhan admitted on Monday that parts of the mining sector faced “huge” labour relations challenges, but said most of the rest of Africa's biggest economy was functioning smoothly.

Gordhan also told an investment conference in Johannesburg that the government was working as a facilitator in a wage strike in the platinum sector that has entered its third week. - Reuters
