DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal’s existing and new exporters and internationally-focused businesses are urged to seize the opportunity to grow their businesses and develop new markets. 

KZN Export Week will kick off on October 1st and run until the 5th of October. 

The event of established to recognise, promote and assist with growing export opportunities in KZN, as well as give export-ready businesses a platform to improve their international business development strategies.

Under the theme Think Global: KZN the African Trade Hub, the expo will highlight the significance of exporting to the KZN economy as well as celebrate the success of KZN exporters.

MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mr Sihle Zikalala will be delivering the keynote address at the event. Mr Jacob Twala, Economic Specialist in the Infrastructure Management and Economic Services at the KZN Treasury are among the speakers and panellists that will be present too. 

Many attendees of last year’s KZN Export Week were full of praise for the event and the impact it had created on their businesses. 

Tavonga Gonyora the Sales & Marketing Manager at Dick Whittington Shoes said, “I work for a clothing manufacturing company and heard about KZN Export Week whilst attending an event. I was most impressed after attending KZN Export Week for the first time last year - it is an excellent platform to interact with different stakeholders from all over the country.

Indrani Govender, Managing Director at Ricinz Construction, said: “This is where I was exposed to the myriad programmes that TIKZN offers which included opportunities for trade missions to India and Angola". 

Lester Bouah the Executive Manager of Export Development and Promotion at Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal said that the KZN Export Week is a must attend for any export-ready organisation, whether they are seasoned or new to the exporting industry.
