JOHANNESBURG – Tito Titus Mboweni has been announced as the successor to former Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene.
Mboweni was the eighth Governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and was the first black South African to hold the post. He held the position for 10 years from August 8, 1999 to November 8, 2009.
The former governor is currently a founding member of Mboweni Brothers Investment Holdings as well as an international advisor of Goldman Sachs International.
Mboweni is also a non-executive Director for South Africa at the New Development Bank (BRICS Development Bank).
