Moyane takes over the hot seat at Sars

New SA Revenue Service (Sars) commissioner Thomas Moyane will be introduced to the media this afternoon by Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene.

Moyane’s appointment is with effect from Saturday.

The development economist’s qualifications include a BSc in economics from the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique, a diploma in consulting to small businesses from the University of the Witwatersrand, and certificates in strategic management and managing markets from Henley, micro-economics from London School of Economics and mastering finance from GIBS.

The National Treasury said he had served as national commissioner at the Department of Correctional Services, chief executive of the Government Printing Works, managing director for Engen Mozambique, regional co-ordinator for the regional spatial development initiatives as well as chief director for industry and enterprise development at the Department of Trade and Industry. – Staff Reporter
