DURBAN - Construction of Phase A of the R1.4 billion Umgeni development is expected to be completed by October 2018.

The Umgeni Lifestyle and Deco Park which has been conceptualised by Eris Property Group in partnership with PRASA and Intersite Asset Investments will be launched in November.

On the benefits to the Durban economy, the money that has been invested in the mall will increase the eThekwini as well as provide jobs in the area and give businesses the opportunity to open regional quarters and warehouses.

The development is a landscaped zone that has green spaces and walkways across 135 000m² of centrally located land.

The first site will be handed over to Zebbies Lighting in November followed by CTM in 2019. Businesses that offer anything like home improvement products and appliances, furniture flooring and call centres will find this space beneficial.

Stephen Lawson, the Developer Manager from Eros Property Group said, "The Umgeni Lifestyle and Deco Park is a unique concept that aims to formalise the vibrant node offering high-spec infrastructure, management association, a ‘green’ environment, comprehensive framework of complimentary services which allows it to stand out from the crowd".

He added that they are excited to bring this development to KwaZulu-Natal and pioneer a commercial property offering of international standards.

The Umgeni development is in a central location and it is easily accessible to the N2, N3 and M19. It is also a mere 5km from Central Durban, 10km from the Durban harbour and 25km to the King Shaka International Airport.

"The concept of the Umgeni Lifestyle and Deco Park has been inspired by this trend in which businesses will not only be provided with ample spaces, but it creates a safe lifestyle offering," said Lawson.
