DURBAN - The South African National Lottery has revealed that there are tickets worth more than R25 million that have not been claimed as yet. 

The two tickets in question are PowerBall Plus jackpots worth R21,7 million and R3,4 million respectively. 

The first ticket which is worth R21,7 million was purchased last year on June 30th, 2017. This ticket was purchased for R45 and it will expire on June 30th, 2018.

The second ticket which is worth R3,4 million was purchased on July 21st, 2017. The second ticket was purchased for R22 and it will expire on July 21st, 2018. 

Both of the tickets were purchased at Ifalethu Trading Store on Moshoeshoe Road in Sebokeng, Gauteng. Khensani Mabuza, the Head of Market for Ithuba, said, "The winning amounts of the expired tickets will be transferred to the National Lotteries Distribution Trust Fund for the benefit of good causes". 

Mabuza said that the money would be used for good causes like charities. Mabuza also said that the use of the money would be left up to the discretion of the commissioner. Mabuza also said that there have not been any recent cases of unclaimed tickets. 

Ithuba has been the regulator of the South African National Lottery since 2015. 

According to The South African, there was also of an unclaimed ticket that was worth R19 million. This ticket was purchased in Durban.
