Johannesburg - South Africa's net gold and foreign exchange reserves beat expectations in February, rising to $45.337 billion from $44.918 billion in January, Reserve Bank data showed on Friday.

Gross reserves also rose, to $50.137 billion at the end of February, from $49.350 billion in January and against market expectations for an increase to $49.745 billion. - Reuters
