JOHANNESBURG - Growth in private sector credit demand in South Africa rose to 6.74 percent in August from 5.41 percent in July, central bank data showed on Friday.

Expansion in the broadly defined M3 measure of money supply also rose, to 6.95 percent in August from 6 percent in the previous month.
