Zuma launches Western Cape Investor Centre

CAPE TOWN - President Jacob Zuma, has officially opened the Western Cape Invest SA in Cape Town.

The centre will see businesses and investors getting relevant information and necessary documents, from different institutions under one roof. It is understood that services rendered at the centre include, but not limited to business permits, water, electricity and tax related services will be provided by government officials.

Here are some of the institutions and government departments that can be found in the Invest SA centre: The Department of Homme Affairs, The Department of Trade and Industry, The Department of Labour, SARS, WESGRO, Western Cape Government, Invest Cape-City of Cape Town, Red Tape Reduction to name a few.

City of Cape Town Mayor, Patricia De Lille said, "As a city, we are open to business and there are investment opportunities in the Cape Town, this investment centre will enhance the economic development of the Western Cape as a whole".

Zuma has congratulated the Department of Trade and Industry, Western Cape Government and the relevant stakeholders for taking this project off the ground.

"Invest SA One Stop Shop will make it easier for both domestic and foreign investors to do business in our country" Zuma added.

Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Bulelani Magwanishe said collaborating efforts of the different government departments in one centre was an easy exercise and so far, no challenges have prevailed.

This official launch of the Western Cape Investment Centre follows the launch of the Nationation One Stop Shop held in Pretoria, in March. Government plans to open other centres in Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng provinces in the near future, The Presidency revealed.

The Invest SA One Stop Shop is a government programme to prioritise and promote investment in South Africa.
