CAPE TOWN – First National Bank’s online banking system is currently down and has been down for most of the morning, causing frustration for a number of customers.
FNB’s Customer Contact Centre said that the bank is experiencing limited functionality.
As a result FNB customers have taken to Twitter to voice their frustration.
According to news reports certain FNB customers can log onto the banking site but they then get a message stating that they have only certain access.

Some customers cannot use the FNB site at all.
“FNB is aware of an intermittent technical issue that is impacting access to select services. The bank apologises to impacted customers for the inconvenience caused,” said FNB Technology spokesperson Peter Alkema.
“We are working hard to resolve the matter and restore services,” added Alkema.
