DURBAN - Forbes has released their list of The Highest Paid Actresses for 2018 and Scarlett Johansson has topped this year's list.
Forbes took into account the earnings for actresses between June 1st, 2017 and June 1st, 2018 for this ranking.
Johansson made $40,5 million this year in pretax earnings during the one year period. Her role in the Marvel Avengers movies as Black Widow has clearly been lucrative.
This year Johansson bumped off Emma Stone who was in the number one spot for the 2017 ranking.
Here is a look at the top 10 actresses on the Forbes list of The Highest Paid Actresses for 2018:
1. Scarlett Johansson: $40,5 million
Scarlett Johannson's most lucrative role is her character the Black Widow form the Marvel Avengers movies. Johansson started playing the role in 2010 in the Iron Man 2 movie. Altogether Johansson has done seven Marvel movies as the Black Widow is expected to do a standalone Black Widow film.

2. Angeline Jolie: $28 million
Although Angelina Jolie is busy with her humanitarian work she still demands double digits for big roles. Her role in the Maleficent 2 film accounts for the majority of her payday.
3. Jennifer Aniston: $19,5 million
Jennifer Aniston makes most of her money through endorsements with companies like Emirates airlines, Smartwater and Aveeno. Next year her paycheck is expected to soar when production on her new Apple series with Reese Witherspoon starts. Aniston will receive an estimated $1,25 million per episode.

4. Jennifer Lawrence: $18 million
Two of Lawrence's latest movies Mother! and Red Sparrow did not perform well at the box office but her she still gets paid a lot of money for her roles in the X-Men movies and her for her Dior contract.
5. Reese Witherspoon: $16,5 million
Reese Witherspoon will be earning her an estimated $1 million per episode for her series Big Little Lies 2 while movie roles make up half of her paycheck.

6. Mila Kunis: $16 million
Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis had a big hit with her film Bad Moms Christmas 2 which grossed $130 million at the box office on a $28 million budget.
7. Julia Roberts: $13 million
Julia Roberts' film Wonder grossed $310 million worldwide on an estimated $28 million budget. The movie gave the actress her best box office numbers in over a decade.

8. Cate Blanchett: $12,5 million

The Australian actress' pockets are being lined by family-friendly roles that included The House with a Clock in its Walls and Thor: Ragnarok.
