Leading mining houses and industry bodies to gather at Kenya Mining Forum

JOHANNESBURG - Kenya’s leading mining houses and industry bodies will gather at the Kenya Mining Forum, a two-day event which kicks off on Monday at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, hosted by the Kenya Chamber of Mines, the forum said in a statement.

Mining and quarrying investment opportunities in Kenya’s counties, case studies from successful mining projects, updates on the gemstone, artisanal and small-scale sector as well as financing and regulatory challenges will be the focus of the event.

The mining community will also discuss how it can contribute to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda of universal health care, affordable housing, manufacturing and food security.

Base Titanium, Acacia Mining, Karebe Gold Mining, Bamburi Cement and the event host, the Kenya Chamber of Mines, are some of the companies which will be attending the event which is to be addressed by John Omenge, Kenya’s Principal Secretary for Mining in the State Department of Mining in the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining.
