DURBAN - Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba is set to deliver his Medium Term Budget Policy Speech on Wednesday in Parliament amid trying economic times.
The Minister will discuss many hot topics relating to State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), alleged increases in taxes and the R2,2 trillion debt that South Africa has found itself in.
Take a look at what some South Africans who took to Twitter are thinking ahead of Gigaba's speech:
I wonder if he’s going to wear his pilots uniform - “Mayday we have an emergency”
We're screwed. Tax revenue down. SOEs defaulting. Economy shrinking. More ratings downgrades incoming. Hello IMF soon soon.
He has no option but to borrow . downgrade https://t.co/qjdTni82wR
Fees must fall protest the day before the Mini Budget announcement. #Tactics
Hopefully the #minibudget will be boring and our country won't experience any negative effects
