CAPE TOWN - Before purchasing a new laptop, we always look for a good reliable brand that will suit the purpose we intend using it for.

Reliability and dependable performance rank high on most buyer’s lists. According to a survey done by MyBroadband, its 2017 Tech Survey revealed that Dell is the most popular computer brand among South African IT professionals.

Their survey was completed by over 3,000 South African IT professionals and tech-savvy consumers. 21% of users said Dell is their favourite computer brand, followed by Lenovo, Apple, and HP – all on 13%. In another survey, done by laptop mag, Lenovo was deemed as the most popular brand due to the strength of its many highly-rated laptops and improved customer support.

Asus took second, thanks to a deep, value-filled lineup. Dell rounded out the top three on the strength of its superior premium laptops and helpful warranty coverage.

To review products, laptop Mag evaluated the 10 biggest laptop brands to determine which offer the best combination of quality products, cutting-edge innovation, helpful support, sleek designs and strong value.

They blamed  Apple's downfall of %th place on modest review scores, expensive products and lack of ports. However, Digital trends found apple to be the most reliable when using a MacBook Pro,

Digital Trends says that the MacBook Pro rarely has failures or returns. Part of this is due to Apple’s solid design philosophy. MacBooks, Airs, and Pros are consistently growing thinner and more powerful, but the overall design style remains the same, according to Digital Trends.

Other laptop brands that you can find on the market are:
