JOHANNESBURG -  The innovative ticketless way to pay for your parking, KaChing,, has announced that they were expanding their footprint of retail parking sites.

Spokesman for KaChing, Mike Clark on Wednesday said customers at the Mall of Africa were now able to pay for their parking using KaChing. The system uses automatic numberplate recognition cameras and smartphone app technology to make paying for parking so much easier.

“KaChing offers all people who park a massively more convenient way to pay for your parking. You no longer need to take a parking ticket, you don’t need cash, there are no queues to pay, and you have no hassle with change or lost tickets”.

Attacq and Atterbury Property Groups have embraced the KaChing technology bringing innovation to Mall of Africa and enabling shoppers to pay for their parking using KaChing for improved parking convenience.

KaChing allows parking customers to use flexible payment options such as pre-pay, top up or credit card payment to securely pay for their parking. In addition to ease of payment, the app also gives customers the security to track their parking activity online, and the option to connect multiple vehicles to one account.

KaChing last year launched on a commercial pilot basis and is available at Melrose Arch, Thrupps and Morningside Shopping Centres in Johannesburg to mention only a few of the growing list of properties offering ticketless and cashless parking solutions.

“We are proud of the fact that in the past year, there have been zero car thefts from KaChing users. Our technology significantly improves your vehicle’s security while you park. The pre-paid option is also proving a winner with 60% of our users paying through pre-paid,” said Clark.

Clark added that signing up for KaChing is easy and effortless; customers can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. All customers need to do is register with their vehicle number plate, load their pre-paid account, or choose the credit card option.

“It is a simple drive IN drive OUT experience. The number plate recognition cameras at each entry and exit automatically pick up customer details and open the boom; customers don’t even need to stop. Customers pay the same parking tariff as they normally would, but now with much greater ease and convenience,” said Clark.
