Cape Town - As part of their entry in the “Google Apps Developer Challenge 2012”, two UCT graduates have created an application that is set to improve how students prepare for exams.

Annually, Google sets software developers around the world a challenge of coming up with an application that will be relevant in their regions.

Software developers Tanaka Mutakwa and Chanda Pwapwa decided to tackle the education problem in SA, entering their app in the “not for profit” category.

“It is my second year out of university,” said Mutakwa. “I understand the challenges when studying for exams.”

The application, called “prep-hub” is an interactive archive of past test and exam papers. Students can access the application from an internet-enabled PC or smartphone.

Mutakwa said a common problem was that students didn’t have anyone to discuss their challenges with them.

The application is designed to fuel discussion. Go to www.prep-hub.com. - Cape Times
