CAPE TOWN – Huawei announced that on the 16th of October the company will launch its latest flagship phone the Mate 20 Pro at an event in London.
The Mate 20 and Pro will serve as the successor to last year’s Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro.
According to leaks, the device may be a gaming-specific device, due to the company having focused on mobile gaming performance with its GPU Turbo update.
The processor powering this model has already been announced as the Kirin 980 chipset.
According to leaks by WinFuture.de, the layout of the rear camera will be different, it will have a wide-screen notch up front with a display screen size of 6.3 inches and resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels.
Other rumours suggest that the devices will come with a 40W fast charger.
According to Gadgets 360, the flagship handset will have a 3D facial recognition, an in-display fingerprint sensor and 6GB/ 8GB RAM.
It also rumoured that the Mate 20 Pro will be powered by a 4200 mAh battery and the normal Mate 20 will be 4000 mAh.
Leaks suggest that the Mate 20 Pro will have a triple camera setup on the rear.
These three cameras will reportedly include a 40-megapixel primary sensor, 20-megapixel secondary sensor, and an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor according to Gadgets 360.
However, leak images show that the cameras are set to be positioned differently in the Mate phone than the P20, with the three lenses and flash orientated in a square.
A leak from reputed tipster Roland Quandt had claimed that the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage of the Mate 20 Pro would be priced at 49,99 Euros.
So. That "Nano Memory Card" or "Nano SD" card for the Mate 20 Pro, that fits the Nano SIM slot, will cost you 49,99 Euro for the 128GB version. Uses eMMC 4.5 protocol for read speeds of up to 90 MB/s.— Roland Quandt (@rquandt) October 12, 2018
