DURBAN - Facebook, the parent company of WhatsApp announced that WhatsApp will be getting some new features.
Some of the new features that were announced at the F8 developer conference include stickers, business-focused features and group video calls.
Although not a lot of details about WhatsApp group video calls were revealed by WhatsApp director Mubarik Imam, the video call feature will allow four people to participate in the video call at the same time.

According to Imam, WhatsApp has more than 450 million daily users and more than 2 billion minutes of video and audio calls are made through WhatsApp every day.
The social messaging app will also be getting stickers just like other social networking platforms like Facebook Messenger. The app will also allow third parties to create their own collection of stickers.
WhatsApp Business which was launched this year may start charging large brands for extra perks that would help them reach more customers and make money. At the moment WhatsApp Business is free.
F8 is Facebook's annual developer conference. The conference which started yesterday and is being held in San Jose, California has been used to announce a number of new developments in Facebook products.
Some of the announcements include an Instagram group video chat feature, a new version of Facebook Messenger and a Facebook dating feature.
