DURBAN - After the PSL transfer window closed on August 31 many players made significant moves to different clubs. Here is a list of the most expensive transfers in PSL history

  1. Rivaldo Coetzee was signed to Mamelodi Sundowns from Ajax Cape Town. Sundows paid about R12m (£720 000) for the centre back. Coetzee started playing for the Ajax Cape Town youth side. The opportunity for Sundowns to sign Coetzee after he failed a medical at Scottish club Glasgow Celitic.
  2. Musa Nyatama moved from Bloefontein Celtic to Orlando Pirates for around R6m (£360 000). Nyatama’s contract at Pirates ends in June 2020. He previously played for clubs like Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United.
  3. Amr Gamal, who plays centre forward,was signed on loan from Egytian club El Ahly Cairo to Bidvest Wits FC. Bidvest paid around R3m (£225 000) for Gamal. His on loan contract will end in June 2018 with an option to buy.

Other big transfers in to the included Steven Pienaar who moved to Bidvest Wits FC on a free transfer. Pienaar had a long overseas career after playing for the Ajax Cape Town youth side and main side. Pienaar would go on to playing for Dutch club AFC Ajax, German club Borussia Dortmund then landing in England for Everton, Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspurs.
