What does the new iOS 11 system update do

CAPE TOWN - After months of testing, the anticipated iOS system update for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is now available. 

This update comes with new features for the iPad and new core frameworks for the iPhone.

iOS 11 is compatible with the iPhone 5s and later, the iPad mini 2 and later, the iPad Air and later as well as the most recent iPod touch.

 It turns your iPad into a more capable computing device with a brand new user interface. 

 Here are some of the new features:

 

The Apple store has been redesigned.

Apple says that multi-tasking has been made easier which is done by: Opening two apps side-by-side, you can now just drag and drop an app icon from the dock to the main screen.

You can also manage your files in the new Files app, which supports cloud file services such as Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive.

You can expect a lot of augmented reality apps and features in the App Store. 

The Control Center now comes with customizable shortcuts.You can add an Apple TV remote shortcut or a battery-saving mode shortcut for instance. 

Turn your Live Photo into a fun video loop or make it bounce back and forth. You can even use a long exposure to create beautiful effects in your Live Photo.

It also gives you the option now to turn your mobile data on or off.
