SUN CITY - African Women Chartered Accountants recently named Dr. Thandi Ndlovu as the 2017 Woman of Substance.

According to company's statement, the award is based on her significant role in the uplifting of black women, demonstrating quality and successful leadership in areas of governance and business to attain gender equality.

She is the Founder and the CEO of Motheo Construction Group which was established in 1997. She is currently the president of the Black Business Council for the Built Environment. She is an MK Veteran, the statement revealed.

In her acceptance speech,  she thanked the AWCA for the honour of adding her name to a list of amazing women, some of whom spearheaded her leap forward in the construction industry. She also thanked one of her key mentors, Mrs Zanele Mbeki, for her guidance.

“For the AWCA it is of upheld importance to us to give recognition where it deserved, especially to exceptional women like Dr Thandi who make a great contribution towards the uplifment of black women. As it is Women’s Month, this is our way as the AWCA to encourage more women to do more good towards the uplifment of women in South Africa,” president of the AWCA, Lesego Sennelo said.

AWCA celebrates 15th  its annual Woman of Substance conference and awards.
