Cape Town - South Africa’s Miss Supranational title holder and young medical doctor Thato Mosehle came in third place, at the weekend’s international pageant held in Nowy Sącz, Poland.

The 26-year-old pageant queen, from the North West, represented South Africa against contestants from 60 other countries, which was won by Namibia’s Chanique Rabe.

A jubilant Mosehle said she was excited and proud of her accomplishments thus far in competing for Miss South Africa, and representing the country on an international stage.

She said: “This entire experience has been beyond my wildest expectations and I am delighted to have done so well. Poland is a magical country and everyone we met has made us feel so welcome. Thank you also to everyone back home for your wonderful messages of support.

“Congratulations to Chanique, she is going to be a fantastic title holder and I wish her everything of the best during the coming year,” said Mosehle.

In support of their competing representative, chief executive of the Miss South Africa organisation Stephanie Weil, and Miss South Africa creative director Werner Wessels, were in Poland to cheer Mosehle on.

Speaking on Mosehle’s podium placement, Weil said: “Thato shone on the international stage and we are incredibly proud of her, and her achievement of making it to the top three.”
