Belhar taxi crash leaves 10 injured

Cape Town - A horror crash left ten people injured when two taxis crashed at a busy intersection in Belhar, Cape Town. 

"Ten people were left injured (on Monday) afternoon following a collision between two taxis at the Erica and Symphony Road intersection in Belhar in the Western Cape," ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said. 

"ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 16h00 to find both vehicles in the middle of the intersection. Several children were found walking around on the scene.

"Paramedics assessed the patients and found that ten people, several of them school children, had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene.

"The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care," Meiring said.

"The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations."
