Cape Town - A crash involving a taxi and a car left 14 people injured on Thursday morning.

One man sustained serious injuries in the crash that left both vehicles lying on their sides, blocking the intersection of Bill Bezuidenhout and Ragland roads in Bellville, Cape Town.

"Fourteen people were left injured this morning following a collision between a taxi and light motor vehicle at the Bill Bezuidenhout and Ragland Road intersection in Bellveille in the Western Cape," ER24 spoeksperson Russel Meiring said.

"ER24 paramedics, along with Metro Rescue, Fire and other services, arrived on the scene to find both the taxi and light motor vehicle lying on their sides in the middle of the intersection. The occupants had already climbed out of the vehicles and were found on the side of the road.

"Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one man had sustained serious injuries while thirteen others had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

"Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to various hospitals for further treatment.

"The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations," Meiring said.
