Cape Town - As December festivities draw closer, two highly-anticipated annual summer markets are set to return, following a break due to last year's brutal third wave of Covid-19 infections.

The Cape Town Summer Market, held at the Company’s Garden, is expected to take place from December 16–18.

Vendors have been invited to apply, with the closing date for applications on December 6. Visit www.capetownonlinemarket.co.za

The fifth annual Wynberg Family Festival is set to take place from December 16–19 at Maynardville Park, Wynberg.

Festival goers can expect entertainment suitable for the entire family, including local artists and entertainers, DJs, gourmet and street food, food trucks, a beer garden, a fully-fledged amusement park and about 70 local exhibitors and traders.

The festival will also host a Talent Search, with the winner walking away with a R 5 000 cash prize.

The festival will also partner with the provincial Health Department to allow attendees to get vaccinated at a pop-up site at the venue.

Festival director Rozario Brown said: “The key objectives of the festival are to promote greater levels of social cohesion, to unite our people in a very divided city, to create jobs, to provide an outlet where up-and-coming local artists can showcase their raw and natural talents.

“This year, we're aiming to get people vaccinated at the festival, save lives, save jobs and help grow the economy.”

Tickets are available at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers and House & Home stores. No tickets will be sold at the gates.
