Cape Town - A high-speed chase through the streets of Crossroads ended in two vehicle crashes.
City of Cape Town Law Enforcement Liquor Unit members chased down suspects believed to have been involved in hijackings.
"The City's Law Enforcement Liquor Unit members were on patrol in Crossroads Phillipi at approximately 12:40 on Sunday 8 July 2018 when a man stopped and informed them he had just been hijacked at gun point," Law Enforcement's Wayne Dyason said.
"His silver Honda ballade was taken. The hijackers accomplices were in a blue Ford and white Golf. All three vehicles pulled away at speed when they saw the officers.
"Near Tony Yengeni Road the driver of the Ford Fiesta lost control of the car and it rolled to crashing halt. The driver of the silver Honda crashed the car into an electric pole support cable.

"Both suspects managed to flee the scene and avoid arrest.
"The officers pursued a third vehicle a white MK1 golf which the hijackers originally used to find their victims but lost sight of it in the KTC Gugulethu area. The Blue Ford also turned out to be a hijacked vehicle.
"The victim, a young lady, was hijacked as she left church. Both vehicle owners were grateful their vehicles were recovered albeit in a damaged state," Dyason said.
