Cape Town - Police Minister Fikile Mbalula and his charges made good on promises to give feedback to the Nyanga community.
He was accompanied by Western Cape Police Commissioner Khombinkosi Jula, Nyanga station commander Brigadier Vuyisile Ncata and Cluster Commander Sizakele Dyantyi.

Mbalula addressed a packed hall in the suburb which according to the latest crime statistics experienced the most murders in the Western Cape.
Nyanga had 281 murders in 2016/17.

Sexual offences were also a talking point for Mbalula, as he had made the reporting of such crimes a priority.
"We adopted a six-year plan," Mbalula said. "When we adopted the six-year plan, if you as a woman, you have been abused by your partner, you must go to the police station and report the incident. The police officer must take your statement without any preconceived ideas or judgement by asking you 'what were you doing', or how you responded."

In a bid to make his commissioners and commanders more accessible to the public each of them read out their cellphone numbers.
