Cape Town - Two men have been killed and three others are in a critical condition after a shootout in Kewtown, Athlone, on Thursday evening, ER24 paramedics reported.
"At approximately 20h00, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the five men at an apartment building," ER24 said.
"Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do to save the lives of two of the men and they were declared dead on the scene.
"Three more men sustained serious injuries and were in a critical condition. All three patients were transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for further medical care.
"The exact circumstances of the incident are not yet known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations."
