Athletics South Africa (ASA) on Thursday announced that a team of four athletes will represent South Africa at the African Combined events and Walk Championships, due to be held in Tunis, Tunisia, on 21 and 22 May 2005.
Marc Mundell (Gauteng North) and top female walker Nicolene Cronje (Central Gauteng) will compete in the 20km walk events.
Both athletes have represented South Africa 2004's IAAF World Race Walking Cup in Naumburg, Germany, and should give a good account of themselves.
Two Free State athletes, Francois Potgieter and Jannie Botha, have been entered for the men's decathlon event and they should be strong medal contenders.
The team is scheduled to depart from South Africa on May 18.
