Leopards increase lead in extended game

Thohoyando - With one goal last week and a second on Wednesday afternoon, Black Leopards beat Jomo Cosmos 2-0 in a Castle Premier Soccer League (PSL) match played at the Thohoyando Stadium.

The match began last Wednesday but had to be abandoned due to a power failure at the beginning of the second half.

At that stage Leopards were leading 1-0 courtesy of a Gert Niwele goal in the 28th minute.

The second half of that match was played this Wednesday as prescribed the by PSL regulations and Leopards doubled their score in the 54th minute.

Striker Rudzani Ramudzuli beat Cosmos goalkeeper Avril Phali to ensure the home team took the full three points from the newly crowned Coca Cola Cup champions.

Cosmos strikers tried hard to penetrate the Leopards defence but failed because the rearguard of the home team was solid throughout.

The win moves Black Leopards two places up the log to 11th, with 20 points from 18 games. - Sapa
