Potchefstroom's North-West Leopards thrashed the visiting Namibian Welwitschias 70-7 in their Vodacom Cup rugby match at Olen Park on Saturday, after leading 27-0 at half-time.
The home side ran in nine tries as they dominated the Namibian second team in all aspects of play.
Leopards' flyhalf Roland de Marigny was particularly impressive as he got his backline into gear. He continually attacked the advantage line with vigour and was named man of the match for his leading role.
Seven of the Leopards' tries were scored by the backline. De Marigny himself scored a brace and left wing Keith Meyer might have touched down three times had a penalty try not been awarded instead for obstruction.
Fullback Len van Riet, a former wing, also scored a brace and right wing Julian Ruiters scored one try.
Eighthman Johan Smit and flank Bloues Volschenk added two more tries.
Namibia Welwitschias: Try by flank Wolfie Duvenhage.
Flyhalf Skille Nel kicked one conversion.
NW Leopards: Tries by flyhalf Roland de Marigny (two), left wing Keith Meyer (two), fullback Len van Riet (two), right wing Julian Ruiters, flank Bloues Volschenk, eighthman Johan Smit and a penalty try.
