When the horn sounded at 6pm yesterday, the seven teams starting off on the second leg of the 2014/15 Volvo Ocean Race left the V&A Waterfront right on time. Alvimedica, left, was followed closely by Dongfeng at the start of the race. Each skipper battled to keep their Volvo Ocean 65s in check as the winds started curling up over Table Mountain, churning up a procession of
white-capped waves. Somewhere between 23 and 28 days from now the teams will arrive in Abu Dhabi.
