Following weeks of nail-biting performances and record-breaking votes 24-year-old Karabo Mogane, from Mbombela, beat 23-year-old Mmatema Moremi to be crowned the 2015 winner of IdolsSA.
The star-studded finalé was held at Carnival City last night. “It hasn’t sunk in yet. I’m thankful for the people who supported me. This has changed my life,” said Mogane.
Mogane walked away with R1.2 million worth of prizes, including a recording deal.
“I have won a car. That dream has come true,” said Mogane. Part of the deal includes Mogane opening for South Africa’s super-group Mi Casa’s Dare To Love tour.
Moremi said: “I don’t know how I feel yet, but I am proud of both of us.”
