Cape Town – CapeNature and multi-award nominated musician Jimmy Nevis have collaborated, creating a new tier for conservation tourism and the music industry.

Along with Nevis, The Voice SA season 2 winner, Craig Lucas and guitar and beatbox duo Acoustic Element will perform at the CapeNature Camp-Out in the Cederberg Wilderness Area.

The two-night camping experience will take place from February 15 - 17.

“These incredibly talented artists, Acoustic Element and Craig Lucas, are great friends of mine and I am honoured to have them join me on stage.

“The combination of acts is so versatile that there will be something for everyone - and hopefully lots of love connections with the enchanting environment we find ourselves in too,” said Nevis.

The Algeria camping venue is an oasis of calm, with a tree-lined river and mountain views. The 48 camp-sites are situated alongside river pools and a play area for kids.

Visitors will be able to fire up the braai, then listen to a performance by the stars.

The Cederberg has a range of hiking trails that vary in intensity, including routes to fascinating rock formations, like the Maltese Cross and Wolfberg Arch, step back in time and visit some of the Cederberg’s remarkable examples of San and Khoi rock art.

Nevis said this event is a lot more personal than previous performances.

“The camp-out will reveal a whole new side to me.

“I’ve grown so much in my awareness in conservation through CapeNature.

“Algeria is one of the most stunning places I’ve ever seen, so secluded, family orientated and beautiful.

“It is going to be an acoustic set allowing you to become one with nature. It will be a different kind of concept,” he said.

Tickets are available from Quicket and cost R4 200 for Weekend Pass for a plot of up to six people.
