If you're looking for live local music and a picnic vibe in the middle of this winter, the TOPS at SPAR Wine Show has you covered.

The show, presented by the Cape Times, is running until this Saturday, so there’s no need to head all the way out to Robertson with Excelsior Wines and Viljoensdrift bringing their delightful, fruit-forward expressions to the party.

Perdeberg “The Home of Chenin Blanc” will also be in fine form, showcasing the depth of the Paarl region’s micro-climates alongside Windmeul Kelder.

If you’re lucky, they might even give you a whiff of their gorgeous Cabernet Franc.

And, if you’re into robust reds, you won’t regret a stop by Allesverloren from the shadow of Kasteelberg, in the Swartland, to try their deeply coloured, powerful wines that have a concentration of fruity goodness.

Even more on the menu, Sesfikile wines will be available to try, handcrafted by a team of women winemakers from Worcester.

In addition to these exceptional wines, Die Mas van Kakamas will bring the Northern Cape’s finest brandy to our doorstep. It’s hard to imagine they all fit under one roof.

Speaking of space, there isn’t enough here to appreciate the bespoke and boutique beauties bubbling up for the occasion but some of these names might ring a bell: Jan Harmsgat, Kunjani, Leipzig Winery, Stofberg Family Vineyards, Windfall Wine Farm and Seven Oaks, to name but a few.

Tasting all of these wines in a Winter WINEderland doesn’t happen every day, so be sure to take advantage and join us at Sun Exhibits, GrandWest from July 12-14.

Tickets can be bought online at Quicket, and cost R140.
