Bishop Lavis teenager Paxton Fielies is one step closer to making her dream a reality after she made it to the finals of Idols SA Season 13 yesterday.

She will now battle it out with Mthokozisi Ndaba in the final of the prestigious competition on November 19.

Yesterday Fielies, who is Season 13’s youngest contestant, wowed the crowd with her new single, Demonstrate.

She said the new single was proof that “no matter how old or young, no matter where we come from and no matter what anyone says, we can make our dreams come true. Let’s ‘demonstrate’.”

The Grade 11 pupil at Belhar High School for the Arts described herself as a passionate singer who loved her craft.

When she started posting random videos of her singing on social media, she had no idea that it would go viral, and people would comment that she should go on Idols.

After she was encouraged by her mother to enter Idols, she knew there was no turning back.

Her fans and family took to social media to show their support. Fielies said she didn't expect to make it this far.

She encouraged people to vote for her at “Pax” by SMSing 08 to 37400 or vote via web or mobile.
