Cape Town - Family and police have appealed for any information on the whereabouts of missing Gus Thompson, 70, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, and was last seen in Noordhoek on July 14.
Thompson was residing at a care home near Lake Michelle in Noordhoek. Family said Thompson suffers from Alzheimer's and is likely to be confused, and may be asking for Gigi.
At 6pm on July 14, Thompson was seen on security camera footage leaving the home in Noordhoek and appears on foot two hours later on CCTV footage passing the Chapmans Peak day-pass turning point at 8.04pm.
He was heading towards Hout Bay on foot.
“We are so very grateful to the hundreds of volunteers who have worked day and night over the past few days. They have answered every phone call, followed hundreds of leads, combed through hours of CCTV footage and assisted us in every way possible,” said Thompson’s son, James.
The search is not limited to Hout Bay and Noordhoek, as he may have gotten into a car.
Gus is tall and slim. He has short grey hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, blue golf shirt, blue jeans, lime green socks and navy running shoes.
