Two Cape Town families have pleaded with the public to help find their loved ones who went missing and only their vehicles were found.

The family of Mogammat Saabir Majiet, 23, from Bishop Lavis, said they were going through their worst nightmare as they don’t know where he might be.

According to Pink ladies, Majiet, a mechanical engineer at the Tygerberg Hospital, was last seen leaving home for work at about 5.30am last Wednesday. He never arrived at work.

His white Ford Bantam bakkie which he was driving was spotted in Kleinmond on Friday. At the time of his disappearance Majiet was wearing a blue overall, heavy duty boots and had a black Karrimor backpack.

His father Nazeem said they were waiting on police to update them.

Police said a missing docket was opened at Bishop Lavis and officers were following up on all possible leads.

Meanwhile, the search for 63-year-old Bronwen Houghton, from Plumstead, continued yesterday.

Houghton had told her daughter on Sunday that she was going for a walk on Chapman's Peak alone and would be back at 12pm. She was reported missing and a search was activated after she had not returned home.

A friend found her car parked near Chapman's Peak.

Houghton’s daughter described her as petite and slimmer than a picture shared on Pink ladies. She has a brunette bob.
