In commemoration of Universal Children’s Day, EMBRACE, together with organisations from around the Cape Town will host one of the biggest celebrations of young children, Kids at The Centre, at the Company's Garden on Saturday, November 18.

Kids at The Centre is an annual event filled with fun activities.

This year’s theme, “My city loves me”, is for children and their families to enjoy and feel special.

Since its inception in 2013, EMBRACE has connected with parents and caregivers from across the city, building relationship opportunities with mothers through the Mother’s Day Connect event they hosted earlier this year, to empower and support one another.

In partnership with EMBRACE, Red Cross Children’s Hospital's RX Radio said they are proud and excited to be a part of the Kids at The Centre event.

The station's manager,Gabriel Urgoiti, said: “As the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Radio Station, by children and for children, we are looking forward to covering the event and to interview other children and families as well as organisations working with and for children.

"We want to hear children’s voices and find out from them what they think about the city of Cape Town, if it is a child-friendly city and what can be done to make it better and friendlier.”

The event is backed by the Western Cape Department of Health, The Clothing Bank, Nal’ibali and Iziko Museums.

From face-painting to marimbas, gumboot dancing to reading corners, acrobats and much more, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their picnic lunches to enjoy at the event. The event is free of charge.
