Cape Town – Two men have been arrested following a robbery at a jewellery store at the Blue Route mall in Tokai on Monday afternoon.

Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said they were arrested after a police officer who was inside the mall at the time spotted the incident.

Shots were fired but no one was injured. Three other suspects are still at large, Rwexana said.

“It is alleged that five suspects, two armed with firearms, robbed a jewellery store. The police officer stopped them in their tracks while trying to flee. Two men, aged 24 and 28, were arrested.”

The men will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court once charged.
