Cape Town – The South African Weather Service has warned of heavy rain over the Cape metropole and winelands tomorrow that could result in localised flooding.

The weather service has advised the City's Disaster Risk Management Centre of a cut-off, low-pressure system that is expected to affect the metropole tomorrow, resulting in very cold, wet and windy conditions, the City of Cape Town said on Wednesday.

Gale-force westerly to north-westerly winds are expected along the coastal areas between Cape Point and Cape Agulhas tomorrow evening.

The City said that its services are on standby in the event of any weather-related impacts on residents or infrastructure.

It reminded the public to direct emergency calls to the Public Emergency Communication Centre by dialling 021 480 7700 from a cellphone or 107 from a landline.

All service-related calls can be directed to the City’s central call centre on 0860 103 089.
