MPs a case of silence of the sheep

I have to say, although it has been said before, that this concept of MPs having to vote along party lines is totally flawed.

Obviously if you are in the majority your party is going to win if you have to vote with your party whether you believe in what is being voted on or not.  It is a total waste of time  Why bother to have these votes?  It is like we are all sheep and blindly follow a leader, even over a cliff. We know the answer even before the results come out.

For goodness sake, if you don't believe in what your party is doing, surely as a public representative you have the right to disagree! Then those who want a particular bill passed need to work a whole lot harder to convince their colleagues to vote with them.

There certainly needs to be a crossing of the Rubicon by sitting MPs.

I hope they remember Martin Luther King's words: “If we don't stand up for that which is right , we will all fall down together, and when that happens and defeat stares us in the eyes, it is not the words of the winners we will remember but the silence of the losers”.

So we will be watching the no confidence debate with great interest and in years to come we will remember the silence of those who didn't stand up for democracy and against corruption.
