There is a common saying which goes: “When in Rome do as the Romans do.” It is clear that Mrs Grace Mugabe is behaving more like a South African, especially those in positions of leadership.

It is not a secret that we are a very violent country. It has gone on too far that even visitors adopt our bad habit of going around punching people for no reason.

Mrs Mugabe opted for violence as she learnt that it is only in our country where you can punch a person without any punishment coming your way.

The PAC was disappointed with how lightly Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training Mduduzi Manana’s issue was handled as it encouraged those with certain powers to just punch people with no consequences.

Our law enforcement agencies have set a wrong precedent of allowing those with political networks to do wrong without accounting for their misdemeanours.

It is also disappointing that the ANC has not said anything to sufficiently condemn all the wrong things that Manana and many of his comrades are doing when they punch women.

We must first deal with the very citizens who think they are above the law, we must make a noise about it.
