As Rock Girls we always ask ourselves the question, what’s next?

What do girls really need? How can we help other girls? But all this time we didn't realise the answer was right in front of us.

We, as Rock Girls, already have what we wanted since day one; we have a sisterhood like no other.

We love each other enough to accept that each one of us is different.

All girls have flaws, but guess what? Those are the beautiful parts of us and being Rock Girls for six years made us realise that beauty.

We believe in girl power and saving the girls and young women in our communities.

At our workshop last week, we reflected on all the things that make us proud to say “I am a Rock Girl”.

We thought back fondly on one of our first road trips where we met amazing and inspiring young girls. They wanted change in their community as much as we wanted it. We look back and see joy in their eyes because they realised that they not alone.

There were days when girls came to us and said they wanted to join us because never had they met such courageous young women.

We believe that we have a purpose, and that is to show girls that you can have it all because with Rock Girls we have it all. We have each other.

We want safe spaces where girls can come together and talk about their fears and situations and, for this, we created our Rock Girl brave bench. When we sit on that bench we have no fears.

Being a Rock Girl for six years is something to be proud of. We travel with our huge Brave Truck and stop in different areas and meet with girls. We realise that it is a privilege to sit among such incredible young women.

Some of the girls we talk to feel as if they lost hope; but, when we leave, we make sure they are filled with hope and that they have been encouraged to never give up. We do not believe in giving up because we know that the future holds great things for us.

We have also managed to open up our very own Brave shop, located at 3-9 Rose Street, Cape Town, where we sell our handmade natural products.

As the first group of matriculants of Rock Girls, we believe that a legacy of fearlessness, bravery, and inspiration must be left for our young women so that those who come after us may become the leaders of tomorrow because we believe girls are the future.

As we leave for tertiary institutions, we are certain that we have helped to mould young women to be confident enough to stand out in a crowd

We will continue to conquer the world.
