One has to say the water crisis is confusing. We all know dams' water levels are low and by the look of things, without a miracle, we won't last through a long hot summer.

But Patricia de Lille goes on record to say we are the best run municipality and we will not run out of water.

Cheering words but let us in on the secret.  How will we manage when we can't use the last 10% in our dams?

It is all very well that devices are being fitted to the  taps of those who couldn't care less, but we, the public, who are trying our best, want concrete evidence from our city to reassure us that taps will not run dry.

Sadly, restrictions were instituted too late and should have been in place a few years back.

But, excuse the pun, that is water under the bridge.

So please inform us how we are going to manage this crisis?

Let's bring the Israelis on board as they have sorted out their water problems for years and have taken back desert land which now flourishes.

I am sure they would come up with solutions as we are getting quite close to the wire.
