An army can help solve joblessness and create skills, and build bridges if implemented right. I do agree at the moment it is a cash-wasting cow that returns nothing of value to South Africa.

Two years of compulsory service should be implemented again, where young citizens can learn to suffer and laugh together, sharing our cultures and languages in an environment where skills can be taught and shared.

Where the need for self-discipline, respect and healthy lifestyles can be installed. The perfect environment where youngsters can become used to each other, no matter skin colour, ethnicities, religions or social creeds.

An army that does not kill and maim, but can help to build infrastructure, plant trees and help fix our environment and protect our natural resources, help to educate itself and communities, an army that can help communities better themselves, not just at home, but in Africa and the world.

An army of peace which can contribute to the diverse culture that is Mzansi.
