Pretoria - Thousands of petrolheads swamped the Zwartkops racing circuit on Sunday for the 38th annual Cars in the Park show, where more than 2000 vintage and classic vehicles were on display.

The gathering boasted some of the world’s most sought-after collector’s cars, including an array of classic, veteran, vintage and souped-up hot-rods, muscle cars and motorcycles.

The 2016 show coincided with the 50th anniversary of the organising club, the Pretoria Old Motor Club. It hosted a special club display in the Zwartkops pit area to commemorate its first half century.

The members of the club displayed the best vehicles in their collections. More than 100 car clubs were represented, including the likes of Buick, Cadillac, Alfa Romeo, MG, Triumph, Lotus, Volkswagen, Datsun, Mazda, Cortina, muscle cars and Jeeps.
