Jaguar has followed its XK Coupé with the XK Convertible, designed in parallel with the Coupé as a model in its own right and using the same aluminium body structure to achieve rigidity and reduce weight.
Jaguar claims it's the lightest car in its class at 1 635kg.
Its 225kW, 4.2-litre V8 engine and paddle-shift transmission provide acceleration from 0-100km/h in 6.3sec and an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
The triple-lined fabric roof - which can be powered up or down in less than 18 seconds - stows fully out of sight beneath an aluminium tonneau cover when lowered.
All XK Convertibles have a roll-over protection system comprising two aluminium hoops that deploy in the event of an incident.
Jaguar design director Ian Callum said: "The XK was designed from the outset to be a beautiful convertible.
"It's a statement of confident Jaguar design with performance to match its looks."
